BabyPass ("we," "our," or "the app") is a marketplace for parents to buy and sell secondhand baby and kids' items locally. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password. This information is managed securely through Firebase Authentication provided by Google.
Listing Information: When you post an item for sale, we collect the title, description, price, category, condition, and pickup location you provide. This data is stored in Google Firebase Firestore.
Photos: If you upload photos of items, those images are stored in Firebase Storage. We only access photos you explicitly select to upload — we do not access your full photo library.
Location Data: When you set a pickup location for a listing, we convert the address or city you type into geographic coordinates using Apple's geocoding service. We do not track your real-time location or access your device's GPS without your action.
Messages: When you communicate with other users through the app's messaging feature, message content is stored in Firebase Firestore to enable the conversation.
We use the information we collect to: operate and maintain BabyPass; display your listings to other users; enable messaging between buyers and sellers; show listings on a map based on the pickup locations provided; and improve the app experience.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. Your listing information (title, photos, price, general location) is visible to other BabyPass users. Your email address is not shared with other users. We use Google Firebase services for authentication, data storage, and file storage — Google's privacy policy applies to their handling of this data.
We use industry-standard security measures provided by Firebase, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS) and secure authentication. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your account data and listings are retained as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at the email below.
BabyPass is intended for use by adults (parents and guardians). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can remove it.
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email address below.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the app or by updating the "Last updated" date above.
